The inspiration for this sculpture was Johanne D’Arc (Joan of Arc) who was burned at the stake in Rouen, France in 1431. Joan was illiterate and could not read or write. She was taught by her jailers how to write her name. Her signature is shown on the bottom of the sculpture.

 

Former Bollywood actress Divya Rana posed for this sculpture in Dubai in 2012.
